John Louviere Named Chief Officer for Online Enterprise and Extended Learning for Albion Center

February 24, 2025

The Albion Center for Professional Development at 海角社区 is pleased to welcome Dr. John Louviere as the new Chief Officer for Online Enterprise and Extended Learning.

By integrating professional development, certificates, and degree programs, this pivotal role will leverage existing online 海角社区 infrastructure, in-person course offerings, stakeholder collaboration, and market analysis to create innovative, accessible, and high-quality learning opportunities. Enhanced opportunities support 海角社区’s mission of student success, scalability, and institutional impact.

Building on the continued success of the Albion Center, the chief officer will provide leadership and oversight of staff, manage the fiscal responsibility and budget for the center, and serve as an advocate for funding and resources to ensure the program’s competitive positioning in the online education landscape.

Lourivere holds a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction from Utah State University with a concentration in academic leadership and learning analytics; a master’s of science from the School of Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences at USU with an emphasis in online learning and adult education; and a Bachelor’s of Science in Secondary Education with a Minor in Linguistics, also from USU.

“I am pleased to join 海角社区 and the Albion Center, an institution and program with a proven record of success and impact," Lourivere said. "My goal is to build on 海角社区’s commitment to meeting students where they are, expanding access to high-quality education, and driving innovation—aligning with my passion for creating dynamic learning ecosystems that empower both learners and educators. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to 海角社区’s forward-thinking vision and look forward to collaborating with faculty, staff, and stakeholders to drive meaningful progress for our students and institution.”

Lourivere joins 海角社区 from Atana, a national learning and development and analytics company, where he most recently held the role of vice president for content and research. Prior to that, he served as executive director and assistant vice president for academic and instructional services at Utah State University (USU) in Logan, UT.

The chief officer for online enterprise and extended learning will oversee a comprehensive assessment of 海角社区’s current online offerings to identify gaps, strengths, and opportunities in order to spearhead the development of detailed organizational structures and phased implementation plans for a unified, student-centered online program infrastructure to ensure program sustainability, scalability, and student-centered support for online programs.

“The Albion Center for Professional Development has been remarkably successful in providing online professional development opportunities across the state and the nation, and we are grateful for leadership, past and present, that have grown it to its present state," said Provost Adam Bradford. "We are now very excited to have Dr. Louviere joining our 海角社区 team and leading us boldly forward in this area.  His expertise and experience will be invaluable in helping us maximize our impact, and preparing the institution to realize future growth across all areas of 海角社区’s online programming.”
