Geoff Friedley photo portrait.Wolf鈥檚 44 songs introduce his first attempt to combine Spanish literature, folk songs and dance. The poems are representative of 16th- and 17th-century Spanish poetry translated into German by Emanuel Geibel and Paul Heyse. The cycle is divided into two parts of sacred and secular texts. The sacred pieces juxtapose both morbid and poignant religious sentiments. Supported with rich, late-romantic German harmony, his secular songs are imbued with local Spanish color.

Neiwirth, pianist, recently received the Idaho Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts. He is a Steinway Artist and maintains a precollege private piano studio in Pocatello.

Tenor Geoffrey Friedley teaches voice and music history at 海角社区. In fall 2018, he musically directed 海角社区鈥檚 Theatre/Dance production of 鈥淔irst Date.鈥 Last spring with 海角社区 colleague Kori Bond, he performed Schubert鈥檚 monumental song cycle, 鈥淲interreise.鈥

Soprano Diana Livingston Friedley recently performed as the soloist for Poulenc鈥檚 鈥淕loria鈥 in 海角社区鈥檚 annual 鈥淛oy to the World鈥 Concert in December. Current projects include recording the vocal-chamber music of Howard Boatwright and preparing to direct the College of Arts and Letters Summer Musical 鈥淏ye-bye Birdie!鈥 Livingston Friedley is professor of music at 海角社区.
