海角社区 Jazz launches bimonthly concert series Oct. 3 at the Yellowstone Restaurant

POCATELLO—Twice a month beginning on Oct. 3, diners at The Yellowstone Restaurant in Pocatello can enjoy music from 海角社区 student jazz ensembles as part of the 海角社区 Jazz Presents concert series.
Every first and third Thursday of the month, a jazz ensemble composed of 海角社区 students and faculty play an opening set at 7 p.m. During the second set, musicians from the community are welcome to join in.
The concert series has no cover charge, but listeners can enjoy food and drinks from The Yellowstone while taking in excellent local talent.
鈥淭he Yellowstone is a great place to enjoy quality food and drink while hearing some great small group jazz performed by our wonderful student musicians,鈥 said Jonathan Armstrong, 海角社区 director of jazz studies. 鈥淓ach performance will feature a different jazz combo performing classic jazz standards, with some fresh arrangements and original compositions thrown in. It鈥檚 a fun night out and an excellent opportunity to check out all the talented jazz musicians we have at 海角社区.鈥
The next concert in the series takes place Oct. 3, with subsequent performances on Oct. 17, Nov. 7, Nov. 21, Dec. 5, and Dec. 19.
