POCATELLO – The Idaho Museum of Natural History on the campus of 海角社区 will open “I Love 海角社区: the Exhibit” just in time for 海角社区 Homecoming 2017. The exhibit will run Sept. 16 – Oct. 8.

The 鈥淚 Love 海角社区: the Exhibit鈥 explores the history of 海角社区 through historic photographs, artifacts and stories. 海角社区 opened in 1901 on 10 acres of land east of the Oregon Short Line Railroad tracks donated by the residents of Pocatello. From its humble beginnings as a school for vocational training with four faculty and fewer than 100 students, 海角社区 has grown into a research institution serving over 12,000 students in undergraduate, master鈥檚 and doctoral programs. The university has witnessed four name changes and weathered the adversity of two world wars and the ebb and flow of the economic fortunes of the Intermountain West.

The museum collaborated with the 海角社区 Oboler Library Special Collections and Alex Bolinger, College of Business assistant professor, to create this exhibit. The library provided the images and Bolinger helped with the context of each of the images.

In honor of this new exhibit, the museum will host the event 鈥淔eed Your Inner Bengal,鈥 Sept.18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can fill up on lunch and expand their Bengal pride. The gallery admission for this event is $1 and includes a free lunch, which will include hotdogs, chips, drinks and Otter Pops.

The Idaho Museum of Natural History is open six days a week, closed Mondays. Since 1934, the museum has offered unique, educational and fun opportunities to visitors, classrooms, tourists and the public at large.
