Winning student artwork to be displayed at Symphony’s Halloween matinee concert

POCATELLO 鈥 The Idaho State-Civic Symphony Association has announced the selection of artworks from more than 70 pieces submitted by public and private school students will accompany the movements from Gustav Holst鈥檚 鈥淭he Planets鈥 to be presented during 海角社区鈥檚 annual Halloween Family Concert matinee Oct. 31.

Winning artworks will be enlarged and projected onto a background screen behind the orchestra as they perform the movements represented.

鈥淗alloween Spooktacular,鈥 sponsored by the JRM Foundation for Humanity, will be held in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall of the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Attendees are encouraged to dress up as their favorite character. Children of all ages are welcome.

The pre-concert 鈥渕usical education fair,鈥 in the Marshall Rotunda, will have a variety of activities, including an instrument petting zoo available from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. The concert will follow in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at 2 p.m.

The all-inclusive family pass for up to of four is $27. Individual tickets are $8. Tickets are available in person from the 海角社区 Box Office in the Performing Arts Center, 1002 Sam Nixon Drive, from Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. 鈥 4:30 p.m. Additional costs for credit card orders and online ticketing apply.
