Nancy Anthony retires from 海角社区 after 47 years of service

Nancy Anthony is retiring from the 海角社区 State University Eli M. Oboler Library after 47 years of service, five as a student employee and 42 as a state employee.
Anthony began working at the Oboler Library as a student assistant in 1965. In 1970, the year she graduated from 海角社区 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in education, she became a regular employee of the library, becoming manager of the Interlibrary Loan Department. She is finishing her career as head of the Interlibrary Loan Department.
A retirement reception for Anthony will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, July 20, at the 海角社区 Magnuson Alumni House, 921 S. Eighth Ave.
Nancy and her husband Dan Anthony have had a lifetime association with 海角社区. Dan received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in sociology in 1971 and started working for 海角社区 in 1972. He has held a variety of positions and currently serves as Purchasing Services assistant director and contracts purchasing agent.
During their college days, both were active in student organizations. Nancy was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi, and remains an active member of this alumni group and is listed in Who鈥檚 Who of American Women. Nancy was recognized as a Woman of Achievement in 1988 by Zonta International.
Dan and Nancy have been donors to 海角社区 since 1985 and have achieved the 海角社区 Foundation Garnet Legacy level of giving. Charitable giving has included both K海角社区 radio and TV. Both have been annual contributors to United Way. The Anthonys were also in the initial group of donors to the Stephens Performing Arts Center and have purchased seats in the Beverly Bistline Thrust Theatre. The couple has two daughters.
