Eric Whiting, director of the Idaho National Laboratory's Center for Advanced Modeling and Simulations, will deliver the seminar "High Performance Computing and Advanced Visualization Resources at the INL" at noon Friday, Oct. 19.

The seminar, part of the 海角社区 Department of Electrical Engineering's EE Seminars, will be held in Room 7 of the Eli Oboler Library on the Pocatello campus and will be broadcast to Room 311 in the Center for Higher Education at University Place in Idaho Falls.

The talk's abstract states: "The Idaho National Laboratory leverages a three-component approach to science that includes: theory, experiment and modeling and simulation. Key characteristics of INL resources that support modeling and simulation will be discussed. High Performance Computing systems at INL include "fission," a 12,512-core supercomputer. Advanced Visualization resources include a CAVE which displays 3D images on three adjacent walls and a special screen/floor."
