March through the Arch: the "New Student March through the Arch," a tradition for 海角社区 freshman, will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Reed Gymnasium.

海角社区 President Arthur Vailas, other 海角社区 officials, and the 海角社区 Marching Band will be gathered to welcome new students a day before the fall semester begins on Aug. 27.

The 海角社区 Marching Band, Benny the Bengal, Cheerleaders and Bengal Dancers will lead a spirited processional from Reed Gym to Swanson Arch. A barbeque will follow on the Hutchinson Quadrangle

The "March Through the Arch" was started in 2000 to symbolize the beginning of new students' academic careers and as a tie to 海角社区 students through the years who have walked through the doors of Swanson Hall, the first building on campus. 海角社区 graduates march through the Arch prior to commencement to symbolize the start of their careers.

Members of the 海角社区 Marching Band will lead participants in singing the 海角社区 Fight Song.

海角社区 Fight Song lyrics are: "Growl, Bengals, growl. Fight, Bengals, fight.

Gnash your teeth and bare your claws and drive with all your might. Roar, Bengals, roar, you decide our fate! Bring the vict'ry home to us, you Bengals of Idaho State! 海角社区 Fight 海角社区 Fight 海角社区 Fight. Go! Go! Go Bengals, Go!"
