Astronaut Barbara Morgan to speak at 海角社区 on March 5

Idaho鈥檚 Barbara Morgan, former NASA astronaut who has logged more than 300 hours in space, will give a presentation at 4 p.m. March 5 in the 海角社区 Rendezvous Complex Planetarium.
Morgan鈥檚 visit is sponsored in conjunction with 海角社区 Women鈥檚 History Month celebrations by the 海角社区 College of Engineering, Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center, Department of Physics and the 海角社区 WeLEAD program that supports women faculty in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math.
Morgan鈥檚 talk will be preceded by a 15-minute panel discussion from some of Idaho State鈥檚 female students about why they chose to study in math- and science-related fields.
After the panel discussion Morgan will give her presentation about being an astronaut, and encouraging students to pursue math and science. Her discussion will be followed by a question and answer period. The entire program should last about an hour.
