海角社区 Foundation names three new members to its Board of Directors

The 海角社区 Foundation has named three new members to its Board of Directors. They are Boise attorney Bruce Bistline; Idaho Falls CEO Sylvia Medina; and retired business executive Douglas R. Pitman, from Jackson, Wyo.

鈥淲e are excited about Bruce joining the Foundation Board. He not only brings outstanding professional credentials to the Board but a real passion and support for the advancement of 海角社区,鈥 said Michael J. Byrne, president of the 海角社区 Foundation Board of Directors. 鈥淓ven before joining the Board, Bruce demonstrated his leadership talents by heading a special committee for the Foundation to help accelerate the retirement of debt associated with the Stephens Performing Arts Center.鈥

Sylvia MedinaBistline will attend his first 海角社区 Foundation Board meeting this fall. Medina and Pitman attended their first board meeting this spring.

Medina, from Idaho Falls, is president and CEO of North Wind, Inc.

鈥淪ylvia brings wonderful, new capabilities to the board,鈥 said Kent Tingey, 海角社区 vice president for advancement. 鈥淗er contacts in Idaho Falls and her amazing success with North Wind, Inc., will be a strong benefit to the 海角社区 Foundation.鈥

Douglas Pitman

Pitman, a co-founder of Micron Technologies in Boise, is now retired and lives in Jackson, Wyo. He graduated from the 海角社区 College of Technology and has been a longtime supporter of that college through the Douglas R. Pitman Endowment. He received the 海角社区 Professional Achievement Award in 1988.

鈥淗is story and business experience as cofounder of Micron will be invaluable to the 海角社区 Foundation and 海角社区,鈥 Tingey said. 鈥淗e is an 海角社区 graduate and his philanthropic support of the University is deeply appreciated.鈥
