海角社区-Boise awards more than 100 degrees

More than 100 students received degrees and a 32-year-old Russian cardiologist was honored for student excellence at 海角社区-Boise鈥檚 commencement May 4 at The Grove Hotel in downtown Boise.

Irina Zahradnicek, of Nampa, received the Student Excellence Award for her dedication to academic and professional excellence, and community involvement. One of seven nominees for the award, she also received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in clinical laboratory science. Zahradnicek attended medical school in Russia before moving to Nampa in 2005. 

<>Before conferring the degrees, 海角社区 President Arthur C. Vailas told the students that 鈥渆ducation is a gift, a privilege our nation has given us.鈥  He encouraged students to use their education to make the world a better place in which to live and to remember that 鈥満=巧缜 will always be home.鈥

The breakdown of degrees includes 23 Doctor of Pharmacy, 38 master鈥檚 degrees, 47 bachelor鈥檚 degrees and seven associate degrees. Programs include pharmacy, counseling, athletic administration, nursing, speech-language pathology, audiology, clinical laboratory science and paramedic science.
