Linda S. Smith, D.S.N., was selected as an item writer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) Licensure Examination (NCLEX庐).

NCSBN, headquartered in Chicago, is responsible for developing and administering the NCLEX-RN 庐 (Registered Nurse) and NCLEX-PN庐 (Practical Nurse) licensing examinations.

Smith, director of the Associate Degree Registered Nurse Program, College of Technology at 海角社区, was approved by the Idaho Board of Nursing and selected by NCSBN to participate on the NCLEX庐 item development panel of subject matter experts that was held in Chicago, Ill., this fall.

Smith was one of 16 nurses from across the nation to be selected for this assignment. She was nominated on the basis of clinical specialty and nursing expertise.

All nurses in the United States and its four U.S. territories must take the NCLEX庐. The licensing examination identifies those candidates who demonstrate minimal competence to practice nursing at the entry level. Passing the NCLEX庐 exam is one of the requirements necessary for attaining a nursing license.
