The Idaho Business Education Association has named 海角社区 professor of education Dr. Roger Rankin its "University Teacher of the Year." Brenda Jacobsen, an 海角社区 business education instructor, said that Rankin deserved the award.

"He understands the concept of business education and how that fits under the umbrella of the university," Jacobsen said.

The Idaho Business Education Association provides new ideas for business-education teachers. It has workshops to teach technology, methodology and workplace skills, said Rankin.

Rankin has served at 海角社区 for 26 years. He is head of the undergraduate-business education program, coordinator of field experiences in the College of Education, and co-advisor with Jacobsen for the 海角社区 chapter of Business Professionals of America.

He also teaches methodology and technology classes to prepare students to become business-education teachers. He says he is 鈥渢eaching teachers to be teachers.鈥�

The best thing about his job, Rankin said, is 鈥渟eeing students go out and be successful teachers and knowing I had a part in doing that.鈥�
